What is new in Roughneck
What changed in the app, newest first.
v3.11.3 · 24 October 2026
Plainer words while you wait.
What you will notice
- Waits say what is happening: "Unrolling the plat…", "Unfolding the permit…", "One moment…".
- A lost connection says "No connection. Try again with bars."
v3.11.2 · 24 October 2026
Remove a permit or a plat.
What you will notice
- The permit and plat window has Remove. It asks once, then takes the file off your shop's private files. Touchdown stops seeing a removed plat at once.
- Only the person who added a paper can remove it.
v3.11.1 · 24 October 2026
The permit sits beside the plat.
What you will notice
- Under the state's permit link on a well, "The state's papers" has two tiles, Permit and Surface plat, each with Add or View.
- Add the permit itself (PDF or TIFF, up to 15 MB). It is kept in your shop's private files. View permit opens page one, and Open full size shows every page.
- The day a paper was added shows in your own time zone.
v3.11.0 · 24 October 2026
Keep the surface plat with the well.
What you will notice
- Add the surface plat on a well. Download it from the state's permit link, come back, and add it. A PDF, TIFF or photo up to 15 MB is kept in your shop's private files, where Touchdown finds it.
- View surface plat opens it in a small window over the well, with Open full size beside it.
v3.10.6 · 23 October 2026
Field Data tabs follow the life of a well.
What you will notice
- The tabs now run Rigs, Completions, Production: drilled, completed, then producing.
v3.10.5 · 23 October 2026
The quote total holds still.
What you will notice
- On a phone, the Total at the foot of a quote no longer shakes as you scroll.
v3.10.4 · 23 October 2026
Save as PDF works on the iPhone.
What you will notice
- Save as PDF now works from the Home Screen and in the phone apps. The quote, field ticket or leave-behind becomes a PDF on your phone, and a sheet offers Save or share, or Open the PDF.
v3.10.3 · 23 October 2026
A more professional quote.
What you will notice
- Quotes and proposals look like a finished document, in the app and as a PDF: bold titles, ruled lines, the total in a dark band, a box for each signature.
- On paper, a line, a section or a signature never splits across two pages.
- The quote builder's buttons are an even grid, sized for a thumb. Delete this draft sits at the bottom and asks once.
- Nothing scrolls sideways any more.
v3.10.1 · 22 October 2026
Production covers your counties, and New Mexico arrives.
What you will notice
- Production, in Field Data, shows the leases that matter most in your counties, or the whole state when you choose it. Before, Texas showed only a couple of dozen.
- New Mexico production is in: 59,449 wells, the last twelve months, by operator.
v3.10.0 · 22 October 2026
Photo ID before signing, and terms to agree to.
What you will notice
- With The Handshake, new quotes ask your customer for a photo ID before signing. The owner or a leader can turn it off for one quote or the whole shop.
- A signing link stops working 30 days after the last signature. You sign your side with your own name and saved signature.
- On first open, and after each change to the terms, you agree to the User Terms, Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy.
- The live calendar link lasts 180 days. After that date, the link sheet gives you a new one to add.
v3.9.0 · 22 October 2026
Safer sign-in and sign-out.
What you will notice
- A sign-in link works only in the browser where you asked for it. The 8-digit code from the email works on any device.
- Sign out leaves nothing of yours in the browser.
- If an owner takes your seat off, the app first offers your unsent work as a file.
- With The Handshake, Dispatch, Targets and KPIs count signed dollars from the customer's own signature.
v3.8.5 · 22 October 2026
Texas production loads again.
What you will notice
- Texas production opens in well under a second. Alaska and Utah open the same way.
v3.8.4 · 21 October 2026
Sharper answers about your customers in Tell Todd.
What you will notice

- One company saved twice under two spellings is treated as one customer.
- A quote has Back and the company's name at the top.
v3.8.1 · 21 October 2026

- Well and Field Data look-ups have a daily limit per seat, per state. Past it, they say "limit reached" until the next day.
- A removed seat stops getting the shop's reminders, emails and calendar link.
What an owner has to do
- Short join codes made before 15 October stop working. Open Team to get the new code, and send it to anyone holding an old one.
v3.6.4 · 18 October 2026
Behind the scenes work. Nothing changes on your screen.
v3.6.3 · 18 October 2026
